Hi guys, I am new to this site and new to cafe racers too. I have had a few dirt bikes and a few enduros over the years. I have been bikeless for over 6 years now and aways yern to ride. A few weeks ago a friend of mine mentioned that he knows of a CB500 that has been sitting in a barn for years. Ever since that time I have been obsessed with the idea of building a cafe bike. I have so little knowlegde that the project would take years but my kids are young so the longer it takes the happier my wife will be (she's nervous that I'll get pancaked by a Mac truck). So anyway, I signed up to start learning so when I aquire my bike (and I will someday) I know a thing or two about my project.

Thanks,
Dave

agreed, get the cb500 in your garage and up and running. Unlike cars, bikes don't take a long time to do up. When I was working for a shop, we used to churn out two ground up restored bikes a week(if the engines didn;t need rebuilds). We would have done more but the space is small. Hondas are espically tough and chances are if that little cb500 isn;t locked up then it will run.

drag it home and lets see some pics.
