i raced for a few years on a mountain bike with forks similar to that. the "vector" fork actually worked really well. bob girvin, now of vrg fame (the car guys who race with us at nhis during the vintage celebration), designed it. he is the real deal with the engineering thing and has come up with a number of really cool things over the years. i suspect he figured some sublties into the design to properly deal with the rake/trail issues. i remember that the top and bottom links were different lengths...the vector fork was great...light and stiff and had spot-on steering throughout the range of suspension travel. this thing does look a little funky. the links look too long and i bet the handling goes off when the head goes south. great shot though.
