Thanks , glad to know it looks fine. I know that, but it is nice to hear some comments.
I just cleaned the wheels good, then again with some gasoline, masked the tires with masking tape/newpaper and then painted the wheels with can spray paint.
I wanted to do powder coating, which I will in the future, but since I do not have a place to keep it disassembled for a while ( powder coating would entail disassembly , tires, discs, everything off and away to the shop for a few days)I opted for the easy out.
It came out good.Does not peel off, and it is easily retouched if ever. Tire change is one of those times when retouching comes in handy. When I clean the wheels, I do so with WD40 and a rag, spray some over and wipe it off, it adds shine, and, protects it.
When I clean the bike, I seldom use water, only if there is mud, otherwise, road grim comes out easy with WD40 , just spray it all over, engine, wheels, frame...and let it soak a bit, then wipe it off with a rag, ends up looking like new, and well protected, WD40 gets rid of moisture.
I am changing my throttle cables this week, I only had the pull cable ( this bike has a pull and another push cable for throttle return) but now, with the lower bars, after warming up or highway rides the idle stays high, I suspect I need the pull cable now, I was lazy before, but now it is a must.
I bought both new, pull and push.
I will get more pixes.....
Yes, I think it looks good, looks very sporty, and it is excelent in city ridding, narrow, perfect for in between cars.
I still have to give it the last touches, I have to make brackets for my larger headlamp...it will look very nice and very original...a one of kind.
Plans for this week, adjust cam chain, new throttle cables. I was thinking about bar end mirrors, any comments about that??
I will get an expansion plug ( 2) to cover the stock bar housing. I have some intentions of lowering a bit, and moving a little forward the gauge cluster.....let's move along, I will post pixes of the progress.
Dubbya DEE!!! yea.....it works.....the bad time is right after the cleaning.......it smokes off while the excess Dubbya goes up in smoke..( Dubbya DEE , not Dubbya Bush...<img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle> )
I think I have seen the Napoleaons in the net, look good. I will check them out. Cheap mirrors are not good at all, you got that right, I can see the pivots going loose and the mirrors going out of focus....
My stock mirrors have lost range with the clip on bar arrangement.Something has to be done.
