Since 2006 is the start of the "JohnnyB Decade" I thought I'd kick things off with a new thread...JohnnyB's Way Whacked Frishizzle.

I know most of my racing buddys spent Thanksgiving wondering....hey, just what is JohnnyB having for dinner, what's he watching on TV, I wonder how I can be more like him...and most importantly...I wonder what JohnnyB's doing in his shop that will lead to further defeat and humiliation for me next year.

You can see what I've been working on in the shop here:

It's a tubing expander. The dies machined out of 4140 steel are almost finished. The tapered drawing die still has to have the 4 degree taper turned all the way down to the small OD....I ran out of travel on my compound slide.....so I'm waiting for a lathe dog so I can turn it between centers using an offset tailstock. The 8 segment expanding die is done, it has a 4 degree taper turned on the inside. Method of operation is obvious, I'll have to setup hydraulics to pull the draw die through the expanding die. Still a few more components to make...but it will be a nice winter project and will be very helpful for doing exhaust systems.....assuming it works.

Ok... back to your meaningless insect like lives.

Well....for one thing store bought "ones" cost about $6,000.

This is a true "swagger" that actually expands the tubing...not a cheesy piece of crap that can barely staighten thin wall tube.

Find me one that will expand 1.125" OD 16ga tube for less than $500 and I will stop working on this pain in the ass project.

And yes it does look like a fartbag plug....an added bonus!

just received the w.m.d. parts in the mail.

i'm down in the secret lab stripping useless parts off the "donor" motor, grinding and welding away on the chassis, and hailing satan while smoking reefer and drinking copius amounts of gin.........

just waiting for a powerful thunderstorm to complete the conversion.

johhny b,

i hope this clears up any confusion i have started:

t.s.a. = team super awesomes (website coming as soon as i figure out how to write code)

w.m.d. = weapon of mass destruction (new racebike being built for 2006 race season)

pictures, doubtful......... highly secretive development. certain parties such as c. marsh, joe clancy pants, and aaron "i didn't invite tex to daytona" phinney cannot learn of this diabolical weapon which will terrorize paddocks all along the eastern seaboard.

i predict that i will be eating a lot of victory pancakes in 2006 as cooked by my bitches marshall, phinney, and clancy pants.

i'm off to the lab as i just got some more gin.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ALL OF YOUR PANCAKES ARE MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(still funny)

tex

-easy does it there mr. tanner. no need to get yourself entangled in this crazily confusing and confounded culinary controvercy.

Here was I spent all day making.

http://www.jrbranson.com/showandtell.htm

Item on right is a copy I made of the part on the left...with enhancements of course. It's a Cam Drive Pin for a 1957 Bridgeport J-head milling machine.....after I make another one I'll have my milling machine back.

And no it's not made from a bolt...it's turned from a solid bar of Stainless.
