Hi all. Doing the 94 K1100 mod. Is there any "must dos" or recommends that any if you experienced guys can share with me. I'm definitely doing the motto gadget blue electric box. I was trying to find any performance mods that would give me a good boost in power/torque. I saw, once upon a time, that one company that made the turbo for it but no longer. I know about the flashes you can do but I'm looking for a nice boost in performance. Also this bike has the ABS 2 on the original frame. I'm going to put either the CBR or S1000RR front end on. Not sure if the original ABS can work when you change front ends or not. Any idea? Your input is most appreciated and am looking forward to hearing some of your opinions. Thx all

Nobody ever Made a turbo for it, they took the smallest turbo charger they could get their hands on at the time and plumbed it onto the thing with a lot of time work coin and experimentation you can bet.
And no; ABS is a complete engineered system, you might better just go out and buy a bike with ABS and then start paying the big bucks to keep it serviced for the next 20 years.

ABS is not a thing that bolts onto a wheel, it's a complex hydraulic system that runs off a **** load of electronics and plumbing.

and you can only flash a programmable ECU.

Have you rode it yet? It should go fast enough to scare the poop out of you,
not to mention get nailed with 235kph in a 100kph zone, or do you plane to track race it,
or are you a cop and speed limit is irrelevant, that would be very cool.

k1100 is pre flash ecu. they did run them in a german open wheeler series, so you might find some of that stuff still. apart from that, no one really wasted their time hotting them up.

and it's a whale, so relieving it of a shitload of weight would be the best you can do.

It's just going to be a run around town bike I have a new '21 s1000R and '21 Street fighter for the real fun driving. This is just a tinker bike because I like mechanics and would be fun to do something like this. I probably have more tools than most mechanics so that isn't an issue. So I guess I'll tear out the ABS and put that on eBay among many other items

if the abs sensor and ring were mounted correctly i can't see why it wouldn't work. or if the modern front end you want to waste time fitting had abs then all the stuff might work, if the sensor is compatible.

but ripping it out is easier.

Luftmeister made kits for the K100/75.
I can remember them being listed in the Harmans catalogue back in the late 80's

Kits would be an awesome idea to offer once you make one work.
Then all you need is a bunch of customers that want to put K bike engines in small aircraft and you could make some money at it. There are far more turbo component options now then there was in the 80's.

I have a 93, and mine is fast already. I bought mine for a sidecar puller but never got it to track right. Going to unrig it, but not sure what I'm going to do with it.
Luckily I seem to still have all the body parts. San Jose BMW used to sell alot of performance parts for K bikes.
I was looking at mine just today. Just don't think it will look too good without the side panels.
