Dude, that was cool, thanks. I felt bad for you guys, the weather never cooperated. Next time do Stowe, at least there's some decent nightclubs if the riding sucks...
Looking forward to racing with all y'all.

I was skiing at ParkCity/DeerValley/Sundance over the holidays.

Conditions were of course excellent :)

Getting to the lift was as easy as stepping out the door and skiing down the mountain to the lift.
I'm still feeling kind of snobish...someone take me down a notch please.

I have a good friend out in Park City. He's also a skier, but I don't hold that against him. You can't do much better than Utah for snow. I went to see him a few years back, went down to Moab first for some sun, then up to Park City and Snowbird. Pretty epic, so I can't blame you for feeling like a king of the world.

Hey I hung with the boarders at Sundance...where the crowd is about 90% under 25 and snow boarders. They do tend to be kind of slow though :)
Rode up the lift once with this kid on a board, about nine years old. I asked him what's cooler...boarding or skiing. He saw my skiis and very diplomatically said..."they're about the same".

I'm seeing a move back to skiis from a lot of the younger crowd...seems boarding may be getting "old school" to them. It all goes in cycles baby!

Yeah I've noticed that a lot of the yout's are skiing instead of snowboarding. I used to ski, but when it came time for an equipment upgrade I decided I'd better try snowboarding 'for I got much older. Haven't looked back really. But I may try it again before I'm done.

I mention not holding it against him only because he's a ski snob of the first order. Can't stand snowboarding and most riders. It cracks me up when some of these guys take themselves so seriously. I've been roosted by a couple of them over the years, trying to get even for all the previous riders sins. Whatever, but it was actually cool one time having a skier dude rip past me and carve a serious edge and just roost me so bad I came out looking like a snowman. I would've loved to catch up to him just to congratulate him... oh well, he probably wouldn't have gotten the same sense of satisfaction if I had.

I wanted to take some board lessons while I was at Deer Valley...but alas they don't allow boarders there. Undesirable element you know :)

Didn't know I was going to Sundance until the day we went, didn't have time to arrange a lesson. Looks to be a whole different deal than skiing. I wanted to try boarding cause it looks like it's more about balance. Plus...more hot chicks of my favorite type are boarding these days.

boarding was more natural since i ride a board most of the time. i never looked back at skis. i really enjoy the soft boots and no poles. skiin hurts.

funny though... i usually ride with skiiers. i enjoy pissing off fellow snowboarders who sit 30 ft in front of jumps. whats up with that crap??? trails are meant to be ridden with speed.... so are the jumps.

Matt...yeah I noticed that...at Sundance on the steeper stuff it was just littered with dozens of boarders just sitting there.
Used them like pylons sometimes.

It looks to me like being a good boarder takes more time than being a good skier.

tim c said it best when we rode with im a few years ago. he said, "who knew a bunch of guys from maryland could snowboard so good?" ive been riding for about 20 years. ill never ski again. the tricks are just way easier and way more fun.

Tex,
We were having lunch in his eatry at Sundance. We all had just gotten done with a morning of skiing.
He looked exactly the same the next day too. I like to think I ski pretty hard...but this guy must be killing hisself. For the record Lisa Kudrow can ski better. But..he is 68 years old...and looks it.
