OK, last thread on this. Who IS going to the spring Moto Giro??

The Ducati is almost together and I hope to start it tomorrow. Don't thing the Giro would be best for its maiden voyage. The Honda is ready to go. That old thing is so dependable (knock on wood) I could ride it the 2 hours down to Jersey, do the giro and ride it home.

Two weekends of motorcycling in a row! I love it! Heck, the lawn will wait...

I will definitely be there. The weather looks great and the riding should be awesome!

I agree Jack! Can't get enough riding in. Luckily I don't have a lawn to mow:)

Who's riding what on the Giro-East. I'll be on my Motobi 250, Fred on his H-D 250 Sprint.
I would think the Wankers will be well represented!!

I will be up there on Friday night. Staying at the Appalachian Motel!

I am riding a Yamaha 100. It is so cute and has a push button start. I know wimpy, but that Ducati was rough last year!

jerseygirl,

Remember blowing past me on the 1st giro. You were on the Honda and I was on the Ducati 160. You opened the little honda right up!! I think you hold the record for riding a different bike every giro.

How much fun is this Giro stuff!!!

DCH,

I just got that bike speedo we talked about on another thread. Maybe you could give me a hand installing it if I can't figure it out. Not quite sure how to get the sensor and pickup 5mm close. Hell, I hardly know what 5mm is. I am an AMERICAN and we use inches. CA 160 has those pressed steel forks, which make it a little different.

Jerseygirl--Jeff Rigby and I are staying at the App. motel too. If you have another loud party be sure to invite us!

Jack,
the pickup mount will be the tough part, but we can take a look at it, go to radio shack and pick up a pack of 'rare earth' magnets, 2 bucks for 2, they're tiny, and strong, makes the 5mm distance a bit more flexible.

haha Jack.....hope you weren't kept up. Those walls were paper thin. I heard someone snoring in the other room!

Ha I do remember passing you Champ. I also remember Fred's dramatic finish to the first Giro. You are a good sport Fred.

Rosko, can you make it out to hang with us? I am not sure what Saturday night holds, but I am sure it will involve a bunch of us!

Champ....Wankers are always represented.... We are as much a racing group as we are a way of life! My 1984 BMW r100 is just not the bike for the Giro.... As such, I will be spending the evenings this weekend working on/improving the Wankermobile 3! I know what you are saying, "it is hard to improve upon perfection"...but I will figure out a way!

Another Giro over and another great time was had. Big thanks to Bob Bove for putting on a kick ass event. The roads were cool and the company was great! Also I really liked the 1 hour and 45 minute drive home.

We had 29 bikes leave on Saturday morning. It was such a perfect riding day. The morning leg was 75 miles and the afternoon was 80. Thanks to everyone who helped my poor Yamaha. It was a hurting bike, but with everyones help, I was able to finish the day. Dad once again failed to finish his Fourth US Giro. Is he going for some record? The evening was topped off with a banquet and a free keg! Definitely a good time!

Sunday was a little bit chilly, but the first bike was off at 8:30 so no time to worry. We had a very nice ride to Orange County Choppers. The son, Paul Jr was actually seen pulling in, but turned around when he saw the crowd. Damn him! Anyway the day was topped with a nice ride back to the ski area where we had a BBQ and awards.

Caferacer.net had a strong showing with JackC, Jen D, Champ and myself riding. Jen and I had a kick ass time riding around together. Jack C also rode with us for some of Saturday. We teamed up with Robert and Ben who we met at the Giro last fall. They make the trek from Chicago to do this so none of us can really complain about driving far. Jen was a great sport. Her bike had an unfortunate oil mishap on Saturday so she rode the truck home. Luckily JackC came the rescue and loaned her another bike on Sunday so she could ride. We had a such a good time together. Look out boys, Jen rocks on a bike!

So after abandoning the good ol' Honda for the past two Giros, I rode her today, and she is the only bike that has gotten me to the finish line. I can't wait to ride again. I have been spoiled with two weekends of motorcycles. Luckily only two weeks till the Vintage Celebration.

There is so much more to say, but I am sure others can chime in on their experiences. All I know that I once again had another good time, and you all were missed!

Yes, a great weekend!!

Jerseygirl, how does your dad do at the ITALIAN Moto giro? Finish? Are going with them next week?

I didn't realize we actually went 155 miles yesterday. No wonder I am sore!

Unforturnatly I have to work vintage weekend, but hope to be at the track on the 11th of June! Jenn should cover up those spooky eyes on the back of her leathers--- they creep me out, and she is always ahead of me!

What an Amazing Giro Weekend!
Good Times
Beautiful Bikes
Awesome Roads
and even Better Company.

Thanks for DCH and Jack C for the trusted use of their 160's
You guys ROCK!
Dale sorry about that bolt coming out
I hope you can locate a replacement from one of your spare motors
That bike really gets up and goes.
She was running clean and strong until that bolt decided to get up and go!
I hope you have your daily ride back up soon.

Jack
Thanks for the privelage of letting me ride your Ducati with the Fresh engine rebuild
That was like getting on a time capsule.
Grabbing for that clutch control that was flying free on the bars added to the fun
As well as leaving an extra few hundred yards to come to a stop, waiting for that certain Shimmy that she does and switching over to right side GP shift

Jersey girl you da bomb diggity and it was so fun riding with you Ben Phil and Robert
Cant wait til Sept.
Maybe we can put together a team and give Team Motobi a run for their money- I mean plackard.
Tell your dad that whe I got home and went to ride my bike I thought of him
Kicking and kicking and that little trick i told him didnt work either
Darn it!
Finally got it and had that moment of - oh yeah- not gp!

TT glad that you could make it out to the bench races
( Complete with Sound effects from F Cherry- "He was like Vvvvrrrrom")
since we were mucking about in your back yard
Next time you will have to come out and ride with us

Champ thanks for lesson #1- wax on- wax off
Kerry and I took notes

To Everyone else Thanks for a killer weekend

yes, a great time..Jack, com'n, it was just a brake lever, but glad to help, everyone has been so helpful to me over the past year, now get that bicycle computer working , I found it pretty helpful, ...when I had a chance to look at it chasing Champ and Fred..Jen, don't sweat it, I'll be looking at it today, will let you know if I'll be riding it to work this week, I'm just bumbed that it didn't carry you all the way, that bike has be so reliable for the past 15 years or so..I was standing around at each stop, ok where is she, hope she's ok...also was kind of a bummer to see the jap bikes in the truck..I want one of those Branson pipes for my next 160. Lots of adventures I'm sure others will bring up..Champ ?.

pass the ibuprofen
