Finnished "BOXER" front forks and wheels are back on .Now both WAR HORSE and BOXER are free wheeling! Fitted wiring harness and coil packs.
Today Saturday Im fabricating seat pans and tailsections .
WAR HORSE will get a Manx "Influenced" stubby tail section.Made from the back of the original fuel tank.
BOXER seat pan is wide and will have a "J" style seat pan, tail piece, for lack of the name of the seat that "Influenced" it.Made from sheet metal.
I use the word "Influenced" because they will echo or mimic the seat but not be a carbon copy so you wouldnt see another one like it anywhere makes the bikes stand out "IN A GOOD WAY" !
Once you go thru the bike and know all about it then ,I can fabricate a seatpan and tail section.From the personality the bike sort of gives off."Oh yeah! That doesnt sound crazy" ah ha oh well!
By going thru the bike you find out alot about the bikes history and the previous owner.Get a true knowledge of wear and tear on the chassis and components both these bikes have under 8000 and 6000 0riginal miles on them and chassis components were very strong and like new !
Boxer had a frozen solid clutch cable and speedo cable (getting replaced)
and one of the two throttle cables frozen solid (also being replaced}
WAR HORSE had a rusty and heavey steel head lamp bucket which I thru out with all the heavey bracketry and reflectors.Will be replaced with a new plastic headlamp bucket and custom light wieght brackets.
All of WAR HORSE cables were relubed and refitted all checked out fine.
carbs have been gone thru and made sure everthing the moves is free and lubed ...I expect both these bikes to be back on the road with all the reliability they are known for .
After total dismantle and rebuild you see why they are so dependable'
I have owned a number of Datsun 240z 70,73,72,81, they were dependably boring after having british sports cars.
In the 70's Japan took alot of British designs and made them dependable.Cars and Bikes.
