I have a 48 inch EXmark mower, kawasaki engine with electronic ignition. I put it away, running last fall, now it won't run. No spark. carb is OK. I had to clear out the mice (seriously). there is a coil type thingy that looks as though it gets a pulse from a small magnet on the flywheel.

I have checked all the connections, etc, changed plugs, but still no sparky. Having little knowledge of mowers, where should I trouble shoot this thing? The plug wire coming out of the coil seems OK. There is, of course, no battery. The on/off switch is disconnected. I sanded all the spade terminals.

Take a close look at ALL your wires, especially the ones that are hidden or covered. Mice really like to chew on insulation for some reason and the unseen wires that are chewed can cause the problem. They did it to my old snow blower a couple of years back, frustrated the hell outta me until I opened it up and found the chewed up wires.
Good luck!

If tomorrow really is the first day of the rest of my life....does that mean all the shit I do today can't be held against me?
