I've seen some failures in Syed. My dad wore straight through the leather once (albiet with a number of crashes), along with splitting a seam or two. My suit put up with a lot, the only time I wore through the leather was the elbow from my 125 (but I did that on purpose) and the shoulder seam split when I separated my collarbone. My skin never saw pavement though, so I can't complain.
The fit and finish of my Rev'It suit is better though, I would have to say. They don't claim to have the durability of Vanson, but I haven't seen any reason to doubt them. I slid down the road a few times in '06, one being a really heavy hit off the highside. Definitely thought I broke my arm/shoulder and/or ribs, but walked (hobbled) away with bumps and bruises. I like the hump ("pregant thing") on the back; supposedly helps with impact and whiplash, and I believe it.
I weigh 190lbs. I'm a fatty.
