I'm taking a break from the ice racing this weekend to do the Middletown Indoor again. Any of you bros want to make the scene, it'd be cool. I'll be running a YZ125 in Open Am and Vet classes, my son will be on the same bike in 125 and 250 AM. Pretty good bang for the buck out of one bike... if I can get the jetting right that is...

The ice racing has been coming along OK, but we still need better turn outs, we usually get about 8 to 10 bikes out there. but it's still early, the best riding will be in Feb anyway. Any of you Maine-iacs got ice to ride? Maybe we could meet somewhere...XR100s or whatever.

Hey FR,
I'm going to give Ice Rcing a go tomorrow. My brother, Donald, and myself are going to be trying not to hurt ourselves on big sebago by the raymond beach torrow. I know its last minute but you should come. If not, do want to get together and give us a tutorial on how to really do it? I also am jonesing this winter to race. I would like to run my XR100 at Middletown for the next event.

tt,
Thanks, it went kinda rough for me..problems with jetting, missed one of my heats. Got a 4th in 40+ and was running 2nd in Supermoto (a new class, since there were 5 of us), till the guy behind me T-boned me off the track. My son took a 3rd in 125 though, so that made the night.

Aaron,
Did you get out to Sebago, and is there ice? I'm definatly into a trip out there. My best bud lives in Yarmouth, I've got him started on an ice set-up for his XR100. I'm thinking one weekend in Feb. I can load up and get out there. What's good for you and your bro, Sat. or Sun? Pick a date or two and let me know.
Middletown's a haul from there, and next Sat is the last race of the season. I'm done for this year, it's fun but once a year is enough for the indoor bullpen action.

Sebago isn't entirely frozen yet, so we went to Panther. I'm actually stuck in Maine right now because of the weather. Donaldandmyself ran xr100s and my brother ran a xr200. I thought we'd suck more then we did, but once we got racing we had a blast. I will be up in Maine all for the next two weekends. Sunday is better both weeknd but I can do either. My brother has an ice fishing shake so it makes it nice for coffee and food. Plus we're all eager to ride with someone or someones who know what there doing.

Dude, you don't have to know what you're doing on an XR100 on the ice. I'm sure I can't show you anything you don't know already, which is cool, 'cause it's all about having a blast. I'll see if I can get it together for next weekend. Probably come out Sat afternoon, ride Sunday...
How 'bout any other bro's out there, evil, chikor, any northeast new guys want to come out and ride?

I'm making plans to head to Maine Sat. night, with the intent to ride Sunday. Can we bro's get together? Don't know where Panther Lake is. Any chance we'll get kicked off by the local or state cops/wardens? Is the ice gonna be decent? Inquiring minds want to know...

I'll be bringing my YZ125 and my XR100. I haven't figured out how to ride 'em both at the same time, so you'll have to armwrestle amongst yourselves to see who gets to ride the spare...
I can wait till next week if the conditions aren't favorable. I'll be keeping an eye on the weather. How deep/thick was the ice last week? If it was 8 inches or more, there's probably no problem unless there's a thaw and it's standing water/slush on top.
My limited experiance is that in that case, you go out early in the morning while it's still hard from the overnight freeze. Is it close enough for someone to check Friday afternoon or Sat. morning?

FR - It was 8 or 9 inches. My brother said as of today it was solid but will check again during the week. Last weekend was real warm and there was only one area that was a little smooshy.

Scott - You should go.

Could be handy, we'll watch you probe the ice. But you may want to wear some protection...

Anyway, a change of plans for me for various reasons, I'm going to shoot for next weekend, the 11th and 12th. That gives my friend time to get his XR100 ready, and I get a full weekend hopefully. And it gives us another week of freeze for more riding options, blah blah blah.
Soooo, is that cool Aaron, Donald, others, JD?
