the race at donnington was insane. it looked so slippery. did you read the accounts of them spinning the tire in 3rd gear all of the way down the straight?? and when hayden crashed, he was only going what looked to be about 30mph, then he slid about 50' it just looked so slippery. and i cant figure out rossi. almost crashing on every lap til past half way, thne just smoking the field. and the other guys were just going faster and faster. pretty intense. and when he lost the front in a stright line on the brakes, man, just makes your heart go. so many times ive had that same feeling on the track. but getting through it makes it feel awesome.
yeah, i did notice the tire compounds. did you read the article in rrw about rossi always trying to run the same compounds??? but i was thinking the same thing but to have the tires come in that well. i think some experimenting in corner exit also worked for him, but also nearly caused him to g down. it was just great fun to watch but a nailbiter at the same time.
anyone see hopper toss it away this past weekend. all i can say is ouch. man, that looked like it seriously hurt. jb, you should learn a lesson from that. racing on pain killers. oops, is that second gear, or third??
id like to agree, but that highside just looked like something not many people would walk away from easily. jeeze, he was already way sideways in the footage on tv. he claimed he hit 2nd by accident and the thing locked and slid up. (??) he was also on some pretty heavy pain meds, so it was probably a mistake to let him out. and he was winning for a few laps in england last weekend. i think he pushes too hard. even in faster he was crashing hard. some people it seems like crash really hard, even when its not a big crash. seems like olmstead does now, frank c will go through a period, dylan was really hurting himself for a while there. and then when ive crash, knock on plam, its usually just a fall down scenario. some other riders might be really close, but ive never bounced hard. youre right, though hopkins will kill himself before he gets a win. too bad.
remember the old days when guys who had the championship in the bag would give thier bike up to the b rider and just sit and watch??? id love to see rossi do that.
defniietly. but look at how well the yamahas been developed. know what i mean??? and how has melandri gotten up that far??? and edwards is showing some progress eh?? i really thought hed never come back from the aprilia.
I know, watching him plowing across the field directly at oncomming traffic was pretty scary. talk about lucky! have you ever run off the track onto the grass in the rain??? even if the grass is just wet, its like oiled ice. amazing he even kept it up! and too bad about oj in the gp race.
