Which Mag did Jessica move too? She did a good job writing, and helped to show that girls ride too.

I must admit my favorite automotive writer is Peter Egan. Maybe he would come to the giro next year, heck, I would even let him ride my Ducati... I think I will send him a letter.

Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, now I remember why I'm not in the results. That guy with the Jawa 500 hit me at the hairpin at the top of the hill so hard that it knocked the right manifold (something we had made) right off the flange. The thing that really pissed me off was that it was the warmup lap for the 500 race. He was diddling with his carb and then looked up too late to slow down and just pile-drived me into the hay bales. I was hurt, but still picked the bike up and got it started but it only ran on one cylinder so into the pits I went. I had to sit down and cool off, my glove had burned down and my small finger was down to the bone and my back was fkd up. I waited for him to show up and when he didn't I went over and found him to wrip his head off and shit down his kneck, but he saw me coming and then he got all apologetic so I read him the riot act and left it at that. I had some satisfaction in seeing how messed up his bike was from the crash.

Shit happens though, and after it all I was glad I hadn't gotten physical with him because then I would have been the asshole.

The funniest thing I saw there was when Pete and Denise parked next to us and Pete had that old ambulance he put his bikes in and an open trailer he hauled his sidecar on. So it's POURING out, had been all morning, and Pete gets on the sidecar while it's still on the trailer, "No sense in taking this off if it's not going to start". Well, it did and emptied the several gallons of water in the big open mega's directly onto Denise, who just happened to be standing behind holding an umbrella. She was good though, I gotta' say; just said "Well, I guess I may as well put my leathers on now".

Practice was cats n' dogs, but the rain let up "some" for the races. We managed to fix the manifold for the next day at the big track and had a good outing after all.

Jessica went to Discovery and is doing articles about women in motorcycling, where she won't have to put up with Buzz.

Obviously, I have lost all respect for Buzz.

Egan is great, but Cameron is like a poet.

one of my all time favorite races was at gunstock 2000. I was leading the race from the start and looked back and saw what i thought was a 200gp that i lapped. it turned out to be turkington and he passed me. i was not going to be denied and follwed him on the last lap and passed him in the hairpin to take the checker.i was just thrilled to take the victory lap with the checkered flag. the crowd was hootin and hollering. ahhhhh, it brings a smile to my face.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

i was there, my god that was fun. i remember sleeping in the field at the bottom of the hillclimb. (next to champs little hd 50 on the trailer). remember all the vehicles that got stuckin there leaving on sunday?? mike and i broke down 3 times on the way there in his blazer and had to fix it in driving rains. too funny. it took about 4 hours to get there from boston. i remember everyone huddling under demetrious' canopy drinking. that was the first time i met spinney. i remember him saying, "i dunno, some guy from new jersey called me and asked me to ride his bike. i dont think he knows i crash....alot!" then the back of demetrious' canopy collapsng in the rain in the middle of the night. i thought forsue i was going to be washed away. there was a stream of water running through my tent all night. rabbies brother forgetting his insurance papers and not racing. walking up the hill puttin out hay bales with water flooding over my boots. seeing all the people who had abandoned their tents sleeping on the tables under the vender roof thing on sunday morning. then we got kicked out of the reunion rider dinner for laughing too much. (apparently the people in front of us really wanted to hear) that was great fun.

Joe C, You are the coolest dude! Remember that time I was spending my time walking around Gunstock with a helmet looking for cash for Todd's plane flight back from Cali' <Todd got his head fkd' up in a race out there, and was like 6K in the hole for an ambulance flight back>. You put a little too much in the kitty and ran out of gas on the way home with no money. I have always deeply respected you for that.
