It was good to see MotoGp back and how well everyone dealt with distancing at the track (in the pits) even with the heat they took the rules with serious respect and no one got DQ'd for breaking them. They'll be back next weekend to see how much they learned on this first outing.

Was sad to see Marquez, Rins and Crutchlow unload in such a way that they most likely will be off the mootorbikes for a bit of time. I suspect that the rather high track temps made getting tires and pressures dialed in; as all the get-offs looked like adhesion had left the building at inappropriate moments.

So, might want to add spoiler alert to your post title. Just in case someone hasn't watched the race yet.

Definitely nice to watch them race again.
I have just about accepted Rossi is done. :(

What a save and then what a comeback, then what an off! That was at least 3 races worth of action!
Only thing that beats MM is MM... He was the cream of the crop still today.

Don't know if MM is unbeatable anymore El Diablo is pretty fast and not at all as beat up. Also with a short 13 race season missing two weekends may spell the end. I suspect this championship is all about getting as many points as you can without getting hurt of getting any DFN's. If I was a crew chief I'd be saying "stay on the bloody motorbike and keep the motorbike upright.

He might not have the engine to beat MM at the faster tracks. MM is said to be racing this weekend.

I did notice that Yamaha has what looks to be a wee bit of a reliability issue. On the other hand the Honda's are a might of a handful to just ride. I suspect in the heat of southern Spain it was all the worst. Moving north should cool things down some. I wonder if they have any luck Suzuki may even become a threat ?

There was a rumor that the problem was an Exhaust Gas Temperature sensor issue. Don't know if that is true.

And now MM may be out again due to needing a second surgery.

Repsol Honda Team's Marc Marquez underwent a second operation today, Monday the 3rd of August, after the titanium plate used to fix his right humerus was found to have suffered damage due to stress accumulation. Dr Xavier Mir and his team at the Hospital Universitari Dexeus successfully replaced the titanium plate and Marc Marquez will now stay in hospital for 48 hours before being discharged.

Dr. Xavier Mir (MotoGP™ Traumatology Specialist): “Marc Marquez underwent surgery 13 days ago and today he returned to the operating room. The first operation was successful, what was not expected was that the plate was insufficient. An accumulation of stress in the operated area has caused the plate to suffer some damage, so today the titanium plate has been removed and replaced by a new fixation. The rider has not felt pain during this period. He has always followed the medical advice given and the feeling from his body. Unfortunately, an over stress has caused this issue. Now we have to wait 48 hours to understand the recovery time.”

Well that does kind of suck. I suspect that he will be out of it for at least the next race kust to make sure but who can say for sure. Do hope he is on the mend .

On a side note...
Anyone hear what Rossi changed on his bike.
He was clearly more comfortable and the better bike on the brakes and corner entry.

Will 'Rossi-style' Yamaha work at Brno?

Rossi wouldn't be drawn on the exact details of what they wanted to modify for round two, although Italian TV spotted a revised swingarm pivot.
"It's not just the pivot, but we have some other differences. It's another style of bike," said Rossi, whose stronger braking and corner entry allowed him to resist team-mate Vinales until the penultimate lap.

Would have loved to see the look on his face when the Titanium gave out.
I'm sorry but do you guys really think that a titanium [email protected]%$&*#G plate in his broke....really ? I've had those kinds of types of repairs on four different body parts. I'm not and never have been the athlete Marquez is but I did listen to what the orthopods told me and didn't put any stress on the injury for at least a week or so. I've got to tell you I think he was a victim of being so important that he didn't have to listen to anyone and went out an tried to ride. The plate breaking; I'd be willing to say was just a way of not saying the World Champion screwed the pooch and pulled the screws out of the bone. The humerus has a slight bend and is under a lot of stress when the bicep is flexed and unflexed. Remember that that bone is the entire lever (pardon the pun) ARM when you use that mussel . I still think what he did to try and keep his championship hopes alive was a very, very brave attempt. If it had worked and he had gotten points he would have been "Super Mark" when it didn't work the plate broke and it was most likely the doctors fault, That or a material failure. It is nice to see that SPIN is alive and well at Honda.

Cant wait to see the racing this weekend. Should be good with more new faces up front.
The racing should be intense. I think it would have been a better circuit for Honda but as good as Bradl is it's got to be a hard place to go and learn the Honda. All I've read as to the motorbikes handling says it's a handful if it doesn't fit your style. Can't wait to see how KTM and Suzuki do, as it seems to me they may be coming into their own and we're going to have two new manufacturers who can run at the front.

All I know is it took a long time to get the season going but now that it's here I'm glad I can watch the races in both WSBK and MotoGp...........................can you overdose on bike racing ?....................naw never happen. Cheers

Seems MM's ti plate was done in opening a door at his home. The little woman will owe him dearly for this.
