Ok so I needed to look up some stock specs to determine the wheelbase and I noticed something interesting:

a CB450 is teched out as having a wheelbase lengh of 1300 mm but a CL450 has a tech sheet length of 1375mm. For comparison a cb500T has a wheelbase length of 1410mm.

For the LSR class I am looking at the bike can't have over a 10% increase in wheelbase which if I go by my cb450 measurement is capped at 1430mm.

So here are my questions to those who are in the know with 450s. What is different about the CL450 that gives it 75mm extra wheelbase? and how long is a cb500T swingarm? I am assuming that the extra wheelbase is not because of just the swingarm.

19" front wheel???

it is a scrambler, and the 350's had 19 fronts.

I always thought wheelbase was measured axle to axle which means a 19" wheel would have little or no effect. I also thought cb450s had 19" wheels in the front as well.

IIRC (please allow for sleep deprivation) the 500T has a longer swing arm and different triples that yield the longer wheelbase. I know you can sling a 360 swing arm into these frames and get almost two inches more wheelbase. For what you're planning I'd go as long as possible...

as long as possible is only 5" total in I am going by the 1300mm (51") cb450 wheelbase. A set of 500T triple trees might not be a bad idea since I can use all the rake and trail I can get.
