i love amb transponders. i really like being able to go to their website, www.mylaps.com and log in to see my lap times from the last race weekend. also what's cool is that it keeps your old results up from last year (the whole season race history) and you can compare your lap times to see if you made any progress. i ran an average of 2:05 per lap last season at VIR and had a best lap this past weekend of a 1:58. roper's best lap on the 350 aermacchi was a 1:51. that's another cool feature is that you can compare your lap times to other competitor's times.

you all don't know what your missing. best $330.00 i ever spent! i guess i should sell my robic stop watch, considering that i'll never need it again.

With a free lap top and a $250 lap timer I record all my lap times, graph them, chart them. On every track at which I race. I down load the times into the laptop after a race and sit there checking out the results on a little card table in the pits like some kind of freakin pro. And it records time of day, date, temperature, track name etc. Then I place in notes like tuning changes I've made for that race. It can do average times, split times and I can toss out the first lap so it doesn't screw up average.
We also do the same for all of Mary's laps.
And I look really pro setting up my timer beacon.

the amb system has most of those capabilities too. cheapest new laptop ive seen is about 5-600 with wireless card. then you have to buy the beacon. the amb has realtime capabilities too if you want it so you can get your times and everyone elses to at the track if they are a hotspot and the system is live. check out all of the japanese crap. ive seen alot of thier stuff love on the screen. the stuff appears on the page while its happening. and id imagine there must be some kind of downloadable format for the amb page so you can drop it into excel or something. you can also graph and chart your laps there too. and compare your times with other peoples. and for 330 bucks, a great deal i think too because its super easy to use. and aaron, if you want to look your times up, drop me a not eand i'll send you my password.

Thanks, I put a total of 3 laps in at VIR and I wrote down my laps from Jennings. How come at Jennings and the second practice, I was Aaron and in the first practice I was Tom Turnbull. And I think they spelled it Turcbull or something.

JohnnyB,
What lap timer do you use? And is it compatable with a Mac? I'm intrigued by this, most of the dirttrack racing we do we have to rely on a stopwatch, which is not particularly accurate, or conducive to review and analysis. Details, I need details!

yeah, they had it kinda botched in practice, but i thnk in the race they got your name right. i was thinking that if they use that to score by, it could e a problem. but i dont think they do, since it would show that he doesnt have a license. its something on weras side for sure. and after that speach at the riders meeting, i dont know what they were doing. anyway, i forgot you only did a few laps, so its kind of a wash. no big deal. id check to make sure you get the correct points though, if it sudenly shows that tom now has points. but i dont think it will. they seems real on the ball with thngs. and also, justa note, you had MY transponder at jennings, not toms, so maybe i got some 250gp points there?? and some 350 gp points eh??
