Somebody is getting a new stainless 2-1 exhaust made for them. Here it is getting fit up on my bike. But it's not for me. It's for the mystery racer. I can't afford nice stuff like this, can just make it for others and wish.
Will be SS back to the meg, meg will be plain steel. I'm working on the necessary stuff to do SS megs too.

Not terribly different....but I don't have a 175 vert in the shop to test fit them on. Also I've never made a set for a vert 175 so the first set it always a bitch because I have no patterns for them or anything. I keep various patterns for the vert/sloper hybred pipes.

This is a prototype set, never made them in SS before. Had a respected USCRA wrench tell me quite a while ago...nah you can't make them out of SS, it won't bend worth a crap and will crimp up and stuff. The 304 SS bends smooth as silk, better in fact than mild steel. Only problem is if you screw it up...you have some very expensive scrap. I pay about $8 a foot for this stuff by the time it gets to my door from Oregon.

meg.s imply conical shapes; are you going to be rolling and welding sheet??? the 2strokers among us might be interested in your services/capabilities. of course it would hurt to get toasted exiting 12 and loosing at the line by a customer. good for business though. SS chambers could be the rage with the jet-set/first class travelers out there. not me...i can't afford my own work either. your diesel pipes do look good my friend.

JB, when are you gonna make some 350 pipes? I want a set of up pipes that exit under the seat. Kinda like the new bikes, but cooler.

Parks,
I roll tons of cones....send out a couple of megs each week. At present the reason I don't do them in SS is that it destroys my equipment....my shear won't even cut the stuff. Some time this summer I'll be getting a plasma cutter to cut the stainless. Still yet to be seen how well it will roll. Last time I tried I might have used the wrong alloy. SS work hardens so freakin quick it can be quite hard to massage into a proper cone.

So far I've avoided chambers all together. Tremendously labor intensive and complex...I just don't think I could charge enough to make them worth my while. If a shop was setup with patterns and a good work flow system to produce them that is one thing...but I'd have to devote too much of my shop space and resources to making them.

I don't mind losing to a customer.... that's what I try to do, help other people go faster.

PS. The megs and some of the 175 parts I make are here:

Dale, nice job installing those...that's a sharp looking setup.

Parks...the pics dch linked to are a good example of the megs I do.

This year about 20 people in various classes will be sporting my cones.... I love it when people sport my cones.
