Ok, I read the rules and screwed up already ☺!!
So, was looking for a picture of my old friend Sir Edward to send to someone on another forum and was surprised to see a post from 2015, and comments from 2018 & 2022.
I got all excited and registered to reply to set the record straight.
So...... Now backtracking and doing a intro.
Hi! I'm Sluggo, also known as Doug, and a few other names not appropriate to repeat here.
Background in Aviation ( military and civilian) manufacturing, process engineering, and ran a specialty shop from everything from aircraft repair to vintage cars and bikes.
I stopped running the shop to make my wife happy and worked for several government agencies for material needs like regular paychecks, pension and medical benefits.
Got hurt badly on my bike riding home byy a drunk driver, now disabled and work in my shop as my health allows.
Most of my stuff is British but I have a little of everything. Japanese, Italian, American and I also have the remnants of Norton America which is a long story in itself.
But I volunteer with the NW Vintage Car and motorcycle museum at Antique Powerland complex here in Oregon and I use the Norton America stuff to tell the story of the Oregon Norton chapter.
* I have 3 prototypes, parts test components and all the company stuff that didn't go to England.
I had/have a deal with Stuart Garner of Norton UK and while he is out and TVS is in, I'm just going with the Norton America story telling.
But, the Norton 952/961 is the quintessential Cafe racer right?
Any rate, my goal currently is getting bikes and display items ready for the 2023 INOA international Norton rally coming up in Winthrop Washington.
