Hi CafeRacer.net

Just wondering if anyone could help with the type of Honda motorcycle this is?

Please ignore the rider if possible.

I am pretty new to motorcycles and cafe racers in general, so any help would be much appreciated as I am starting to piece together my first build.

Cheers.

Aghh... I'm instantly showing my serious lack of knowledge. Damn it.

Just trying to get a few more pictures of this particular style to be honest.

I'll definitely be building a bike that has a clutch lever!

That's not a style bike it's a piece of history, Honda cranked out a bazillion bikes and a dozen variations on that 350-400 cc parallel twin motor design. People bought them like crazy because it was a lot of motorcycle for very little money.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info. Excellent knowledge!
If you want something like that find one in the back of somebody's climate controlled garage with low miles on it and make them an offer on it, they sold new for less then 800 bucks with a full year warranty and you could beat the snot out of them for at least 2 years before anything broke. So base your offer according to what you find and you might end up with a pretty fun classic ride to start from ... then ride the thing lots before you just tear into it with angle grinders and destroy it.

What part of the planet do you reside in btw?

Again... outstanding knowledge.

I am currently travelling New Zealand and planning a build when I return to the UK (home).

Just piecing together different styles and looks that I like. Was interested in the tank and seat design of the picture attached.

I'll hopefully be building a stripped back CB750 with the plan to bore it out to an 836cc at some stage.

mmmmm New Zealand
How come you aren't going to build up a Brit bike, UK is where you will find them, they shipped them back there by the container loads from Canada about 20 years ago.

... CB200 note the fuel tank is that the one you like? has a little padded black leather appliqué down the top side, is super unique easy to spot because of that.

No worries.

I would love to build a Brit bike at some stage, in fact, I recently had a wild thought about buying a Royal Enfield in India and riding it back to the UK!

I thought it best for the first build to be a Honda either CB550 or 750, as many suggest it's a good place to start.

I like the look of the tank of the cb200 but will go more along the style of something like this... (if I can!)
