Thinking about it, it is probably polycarbonate 'glass' anyway, which is what a lot of modern motorcycle and car lenses are. My Aprilia, and even my little Chinese 250, have polycarbonate lenses, because it is stronger than glass and much less likely to break if it encounters a rock/projectile.Ya, it makes sense. I just don't want it detract from the look. My Wrangler (Jeep) is prone to windshield chips and cracks. The add-on to my insurance is less than $5/mo for full windshield replacement. I can't imagine this would be as expensive given the light weekend use of it.
But, apparently the headlight is $1000+USD to replace, so I would probably buy a lens protector anyway. A UK company sells some:
