Sorry for this question from a motorcycle newbie

I'm 6'3 240lbs.

I'm buying two motorcycles for 100 bucks in going to flip one and slowly build the other.

My goal for the build is a bike I can cruise on the weekend on back roads. I have to modify it because I love tinkering. I don't want a racing bike i will leave it mechanically alone and just change the cosmetics. Drop unnecessary stuff, bench type seat, and clip ons.

The two bikes are:
79 cb650
Ga300- don't know year.

The Honda is in good condition but the guy is a motorcycle mech and had the motor off to put new seals in.

The Suzuki has a stuck valve but complete.

I know the cb650 frame is weak but will it be fine stock ?

Thanks in advance

that is the cb 650. don't go thinking youll make it into a "café racer" w/o a fist load of cash. and chances are it will look worse than the stock m/c. put new tires on it and tune it up. as far as it leaking oil- mine did and so did everybody elses. new oil o rings will stop it for awhile. most owners just deal w/ a little oil loss. keep the stock air box (I think the 79 has slide carbs). superbike bars will work. don't put on clip ons. unless you want to make homemade rearsets to go w/ them. Honda SOHC forum has a sub-forum for the cb 650. there very helpful (the german guy). check the swingarm bushings too.

Ya I want to just clean it up and get it running, and then I want to paint it, put a flat seat on the back, new bars, and some thicker tires. I have a few inspiration pics for it, but all in due time I need something to get my hands dirty over the weekend.

I really love the looks of the CB family. I can't find any other models. This one has been garage kept I've been told.
