Hi, I am new to this forum. My name is Brent.
Sorry to bug you guys with this total noob kind of question, but
i was looking for a little advice.
I am about to purchase a 77 suzuki Gs750.
http://austin.craigslist.org/mcy/268782778.html

I was wondering if it was a good candidate to cafe.
How much would have to go into it (seat, bars, maybe tank work), and would it really be worth it?

Thanks for your help.

actually, i got another email with a guy offering me a
1971 cl360 scrambler, and I think I might take that.
It is half the price and running.

I think i could probably do some cool things with it.
Opinions / sugggestions??

'74 was the first model year for the 360. I do have a '73 cb360 however, since I bought it w/o a title. The manufacture date on the data plate says oct 1973 & that's what was put on my new title as the model year (Ooooh! I guess that makes it a very rare, valuable collector's item!). It's a fun bike & I see nice ones go for around $1000 on eBay fairly regularly. Not nearly as many used parts or parts bikes around as a cb350, but prices seem to be lower.

I have a 1977 GS750. First year GS. Mine doesn't run though. I think they are badass bikes (faster than the kz1000 and cb750 for that year). They would make awsome cafe bikes and you just don;t see them around anymore. I just want a sleeper GS750 so I can pull the sleeper cb750 off the road and do the base and head gaskets.

A really clean one is worth about $1500-$2000. Figure less than that for nonstock paint and lesser condition.

I couldn't see the ad because it was removed.

I cafed a cb360 t(with low exhaust) its the red frame bike here in the pics I used a cx 500 tank and made the seat from metal off the original tank.It also had clip on handle bars.I think the bike looks as cool as it can be for such little money.Ill be posting pictures of another 360 Im building with a black frame same cx500 tank and a seat i bought from ebay in glass already upholstered.its painted black wih silver wide strip down the middle it looks very mean and racey all in black .it has club man bars .Looks like the 360 lilbull in every other way .
