Ok basically this is going to be a thread for me (the newbie) to ask questions. Any other newbies feel free to ask as well. I mean as long as my question is answered first haha. So my first question is, Do new cables come prelubed or do i need to lube them before I install them? Also any tips for replacing the throttle and clutch cables on a xs650?

shouldn't this be in technical?

new cables from a company like motion pro or yamaha oem should be bolt on. now if it is a oem product that has been on a shelf for forty or fifty years you might want to lube it.

either way I lube new cables just in case...the just in case being "just in case I ever get around to it again" because I usually don't lube them until there is a problem or until I have some other work to do on the handlebars or in the control area. I am a bad bike daddy I know......
