Hey all,
For quite a while I've liked the look cafe racers, but I didn't know what they were. Since then I've done some research and got a bike. The bike I have isn't really suited to the cafe style: 1984 Kwasaki 700LTD. I came across a 1978 Yamaha XS400 for sale and am thinking about picking it up as a cafe reacer project. Does anyone have experience with these bikes? Pros or cons? The bike appears to be in great shape. http://boston.craigslist.org/mcy/106769713.html As you can see, he is asking $600 for it, does this seem to be a fair price to you guys? Any other advice or opinions would be welcome.

remember kick start only......if its kept in tune it should start easily jap bikes are dependable and over built engine wise .To get the look get rid of the seat and tail piece and put a cafe style seat on it from like air-techairstreamlining.com they will have you drooling in the vintage section ,keep your tank and get some cafe style handle bars .punch in ace cafe and look at his exhaustive gallery for ideas in overall looks. And just keep coming here for advice and a laugh or two...these guys will steer you right well most anyway .
