yea, he's a cynic. He's not one for carnage, but somtimes he does crack a guilty smile when a new painjob hits the deck. You'll notice he takes care not to make his bike too gorgeous.
When I started riding this bike the "pavement magnet" was the first thing he said when he saw it. To his own son...shaddap dad.

whoa, sweet for sure. i have to say, that front end freaks me out a little. frame is wild too, not to mention the radiator placement (looks like the oil cooler is down there too).
looks like a ducati motor in there? is it a bimota project? cagiva? the front cowl is Aprilia Tuono-esque.
the bike i posted is a TZ-250. i think it started as a '95, but it's got some updates. some of the guys at lrrs say it's outdated and will never do, but i managed some decent laptimes on it. i'm crossing my fingers for steve to have a newer one for me next year.

yea...clearly hired a blind guy to design the street version. like the front end isn't going to attract enough attention. I like the undertail exhaust on the first one.

The steering system is intriguing, but kinda scary too. Looks like it just goes in a straight line. Bonneville anyone?
Don't know what people keep working on that weird shit...it never wins races and in the long run the old telescoping fork has never been beat for overall performance.
If there was a better mouse trap you can be sure one of the factories with bazzillions of dollars would be using it.

the only reason that "one of the factories with bazzillions of dollars" isn't using it is because they just don't sell. Remember the 1980's and the yamaha gts1000? front end derived from the race bikes...but they sold fuck nothing. Or Gilera with the cx125 they raced in the 80's and then built for the street...high price and funny color scheme (teal and red, yellow and red, black and red) put it in its grave.

Win on sunday sell on monday my have left cars years ago but it is still alive and well in the world of motorcycles. Just look at how many repsol replicas and R1s in GOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! livery are out there.

i think there are some exceptions. BMW has a nifty front end that sells, and they don't win any races. I would agree if you say it's an image thing. Also, they kinda look like they have conventional forks.
