dude, i cant tell whether i should thank you or kill you. after our discussion about the front end, you said you turned it etc...i started to worry about the top bearing surface of the stem. my machinest hadnt done anything to it as of friday. i told him no big deal and id swing by early in the week. i went over there this a.m. to check on the the top of the stem. it looked ok but i really had no idea about the measurements. so with bearings in hand i went in and we began to measure things up. apparently, the top bearing surface of the stem is too small by .002. remember taking a file to it??? he claims too small for the bearing. so basically what i have here is useless to me. he claims he can dimple the stem and get it to work, but now im getting into some more $$$ and why not just get another? so, my quest continues. im either going to grind, press and fit another, or, just get another bottom. the problem with getting a new bottom is that if the offset is just 1 degree different, it wont work. (ive been through this with the 350 and 360.) so, i just wanted to say thanks, for nothin!
just kidding. i have a 450 front end that might work. i'll keep you posted.
