What do you guys feel would be the best starting point to set my total timing on my CB350? I am running 93 octane pump gas. Currently it is set at 38 degrees. I'd rather err on the side of conservatism.

Do you have a high compression engine? If not, run a lower octane. Octane levels are just burn inhibitors.

But I have no clue on the timing for a CB350.

I run stock timing, whatever that is. I just line the little marks up and set my points. I run stock points too. With a good points cam they will not float until the valves will. Someday I would love to get the 350 on a dyno and mess with cam timing, ignition timing and carbs and jetting.
