I'm trying to determine if my petcock valve is bad. It's mounted and seems to do ok. But.... the side that fuels the right hand carb there is mostly air in the line-like 90% air, 10% or less fuel.

If I tap it barely any comes out.

Should the fuel line be almost all fuel when the petcock is set to flow?

Also, that side's exhaust seems to get a little hotter, maybe the petcock is making it run lean?

if you just put the lines on the valve, immediately mounted the lines to the carbs, open the valves and see all that air, you need to get the air out of the lines first. disconnect the fuel lines from the carbs, open the valve, let a small bit of fuel flow out of the lines, shut the valve, then reconnect them to the carbs.

if that doesn't work, your valve is probably pooched.

make sure there isn't an in tank filter that is plugged. how does the bike run? also remeber that is a gravity feed so there isn't any pressure in it to get the air out of the lines.
