so my bike developed some put put noises when i'm going slow, would that be indicitave of the timing being off?

i guess the solution is to never go slow, eh?

Well, THAT and check the timing if you're unsure.

Hard to know what it is from the description. If the noise isn't accompanied by a performance loss/ lag I wouldn't sweat it.

check to make sure that you do not have a loose silencer.
