ok, i have a 14" auger bit that i want to run on my jd4216. it mounts up to the 3 point but was originally designed for either our old massey or a farm all. (or sosmething else) so the obvious problem is the pto shaft wont reach the pto. can i just drop in another short section and run it that way?? or do i need the shaft to be solid with no joint in it??

also, im looking for a control cable for our omaha standard dumper. the cable rotted and snapped and i cant find a place that has the replacement parts. i have all the books etc....no part numbers, but would like a good online place. anyone??

i got the splitter to run on the jd last week. jb, youd get a chubby. i can drive into the woods with my chainsaw in the bucket, find a tree, saw it up, split it, pick it up in the bucket, and dunp it on the porch right out side the front door of the shop.

kicks ass. hydrolics rule.

As far as the pto shaft, if you add another joint in you need to add a carrier bearing to support it otherwise it will flop around and be unsafe. Depending on the setup of your auger you can probably build a bracket on it to support the carrier bearing. Good luck.

Joey,

go to www.cablecraft.com . You're barking right up my alley. I'm sure there is a truck equipment dealer in your area that could make you a control cable no problem. The cables are basic and generic and it is important to have the right ends made up for your application. Keep in mind that the control cables are heavy duty and are not cheap. They also have keyed shafts for the pto and can make up any thing you need. GO FIND A TRUCK EQUIPMENT dealer in your are. Try Dejana.com or readingbody.com , they might be near you.

yeah, thats the problem ive had. the cable is uber heavy. and the end that goes into the cab is the end thats broken. i found a place that does truck and tractor hydrolics in town driving around one day. i have to get in there and see. they do snow plows and shit like that. so i was hoping. the dumper has a ferrel like on a brake arm, so its the end with the knob that i dont know. the end with the arm on the pump is still attached, and is just cable. anyway, thanks a million for all the help.

hi aaron
