alchohol will negate the pain from a cracked rib at day #6. however, a broken clavical still requires narcotics...or when drinking, a fairly high tolerance for pain if one is prone to ineffecient motion.

johnny's bike works great when it's pinned
parks
p.s. sneezes are way worse than hiccups.
not motorcycle related, long screw second from top is out, the rest are still in there, and anyone who has seen me walking around or trying to get my right boot on can attest too.

dch.

Fingers are normally a lot longer than this. Not sure why my wedding ring is on the wrong finger.
Note the little piece of metal imbedded in the side of my hand...I can still stick a magnet too it. Not sure when that got in there.

thanks george-

actually, the broken rib is the 5th from the top (my fault george)....and the first two pretty much overlap in the picture. it's just a little crack and can actually be seen better in the shoulder x-ray.

yeah, jb, i get more pictures in the morning and if the doctor doesn't like what he sees, he's goin' to pin it. he liked my range of motion last tuesday so we'll see if i effed it up this week. by the way the Dr. is really good....

ick. That's all i have to type.
hey george-

FCB - Formula Collar Bone / Fucked Collar Bone / Collar Bone Cup at frontierland...etc.

hey tt,

remember april summit after mike ewer crashed and broke his collarbone when i was explaining to casey that everyone will brake their collarbone sooner or later and you and alex scoffed at me.........

remember that?

glad to see your on the mend. enough with the scary xray photos.

texy
jb, that must be the "chip"

jc

"tex, if your bikes a cheater, its not a very good one"
yeah tex-

i remember your clavical hunt this spring. in fact, i was cursing you in the infield, then the abulance, then in the ER, for you're "every body breaks a clavical" rampage. then, each time i saw you i just plain forgot to bitch about it. but yeah, i kinda think you cursed me...something about me having a good bike for the first time.

seriously, everyone in the pits was so great...but tex and casey were just awesome. tex made me a care package for the ambulance ride that included everyone's phone numbers, a collarbone strap, and 5 marlboro reds. then tex and casey show up at the hospital immediately after the races and get me all the food, beer, and meds that i could stand. then when i metion how glad i was not to be at the races solo, as i often am, driving my own truck, they tell me how they'd already decided that they'd ferry me home to NY if there had been a need. then for the rest of the weekend, i couldn't do anything without casey anticipating my next move and helping me the whole time. thanks again guys.

personally, i think rosko's ET is more gruesome than the bone pictures.

TT,
Damn...that's a big seperation there..and a nice chunk floating around by itself. The problems I see people have down the line with a break like that is the rough ends of the bone not lining up and leaving an annoying and unsightly lump in the skin. I mean like 1/2" off or something isn't bad...but those babies don't even look close.

The freaking things are right under the skin...have him open you up and pin those suckers. Maybe the next pictures will be better as the muscles loosen up and let the bone move back or something. But damn...you could duck tape that inside bone in place from the outside of your skin better than it is now.

You're lucky that baby didn't come blasting through your skin spraying gooey blood and shit all over the place.

I had a clean break right in the middle of the bone and still have a bit of a lump 15 years later. That arm hangs lower now and all my bicycles are set up with one brake lever lower than the other.
But it was a heart warming scene on Christmas eve to see the heated car hauler pull up in front of the docters house (across the street from the girlfriends) and unload his new Ferarri.

Dude that Clavacle looks more like Chipwood than a bone
Bones do Yen to reattach themselves but they will seem to have to traverse quite a distance to re-knit together
Glad you have confidence in your doctor and that you have good range of motion
I cant even imagine still gardening
Good thing they gave you the good stuff
and that you are generally unstoppable.

Dale
thats quite the hardware store you got going in there
you will always have spares for your bike
bfd, you didnt actually think theyd have a ferrari delivered in december without a heated hauler did you? i hate my ferrari gets a chill.

Hummm is this some diabolical ploy to psych out the newbiees....so we stay in the back of the pack... believe me, my riding skills will likely keep me in the back of the pack on race "Mondays"...no need to show us broken bones with stories of wild spills... really no need.

Ask not what the wanker can do for you, but what you can do for your wanker!
-bfd, is that why that bike had one clip-on lower ?....no wonder I can't turn right..or left......

jen, yeah, but none of it is metric..........the cl's running great, ride it to work everyday..

i won't get as much hardware as dale, but yes, jb is right again. screws and plates go in thursday. seems there are at least two little fragments besides the big ones that will be jigsawed back in to place as well.

I never noticed that before but it sure could have been. I set them up so they feel even to me but never measured anything.
Have to eyeball the current bike.

Don't you love it when they pull that figure 8 brace tighter? And charge your insurance $200 for 2 minutes of work

Oh, now you tell me! I'm checking the EXBFD CB350 tonight.

Keep those collarbone curses away from me Tex.

tim, make sure the doctor uses metric screws, that way once they are removed (I take it they remove them), you have spare hardware for the bike.
