tonight i had to go meet with some of the family on my fathers side. (those of you who know my dad can imagine) it was a party for my cousin who was recently married. it was kinda interesting for a few different reasons. i have a second cousin who was a motorcross racer back in the 70's he gave it up to get married and i really hadnt any contact with him for several years. he has a brother who lives in concord nh, and some of you have heard me talk about that cousin on occasion. i havent seen either for several years. well, the one who lives locally was there. so we got to talking about bikes and racing and stuff and he tells me his son is recovering from 2 broken ankles from a crash about 3 months ago. apparently, this guy is not only a motocross racer, but also a bronze medalist in the x games for fmx. so aaron, im building a team to come up. yeah, bring zach, or your arena cross buddy. i'll bring my posse. he races a suzuki, a ktm 550 (worked 480 i think but you guys would know better than me) in open class, and a maico. so im going to head to budds creek in the spring and check out some racing. maybe sign up for a couple of lessons.
also, i had a chance o finaly meet my cousins husbands father for the first time. hes the accountant for team lotus racing. (all vintage racing only) ive been talked into and committed to go to the goodwood revival next september. this is the shit. this guy travels all over the world with the team and they do demos and provide cars to museums. he said they are working on one for the barber museum. apparently they have the largest collection of lotus gp cars in the world next the the factory. this guy knows all the famous racers. from andretti to senna to piquet to hakenin, he knows all of them. hes worked there for 30 years. so i think next year will be the year i finally go. he says its pretty cool. i think its an understatement.
