Dump the oil, take off the sidecover, take out old plates, put in new, fill with oil, adjust per manual, one hour if you stroke it

I put a clutch in my 88 FZ yesterday at work. Even did the old mx trick of leaning it over far enough to the left that I didn't have to dump the oil.

What makes you think it needs a clutch?

If it were mine I would pull the sidecover off and inspect the clutch stack. If everything's okeedokee worst case you're out a gasket.

I have seen clutches stick together from sitting. It is possible that is what you have and someone has stretched the cable trying to force it. Although usually they break.

But anyhoo, if you've exhausted the external adjustment options, time to pull the cover. If you can change oil you can do the clutch yourself.

Wish you were closer I'd sell you a 360 I have. The only things I know for sure about is that the motor's not stuck and it doesn't float.
