Riding in the frozen temps....

1740 Views 18 Replies 11 Participants Last post by  ROSKO
Dunno about y'all but it is FREEZING here! Winter finally kicked in with a vengence, I'm still rolling to and from work on 2 wheels and have a query for those of you who brave the winter...

Can anyone recommend a decent cold weather glove?

(I've been looking at Gerbings and the MSR cold pro's)

Seriously, I need some frostbite protection!

Beyond that all my gear has finally synched, I can honestly say I'm comfortable. Just those damn fingers.

I'm on all them shits short of Hippo Hands. Its been 11 degrees everyday with today being the warmest yet at 20. I've mounted a set of enduro engineering handguards with the deflectors, it helps but the wind still gets under the deflector and freezes my h.o.m.o. fingertips.

Hippo hands may be the next step, but I'm wary of anything that'll make it harder for me to get off the bike if need be.

An electric vest is one thing, having my hands cabled to the bike is another. I dunno. Time to go hippo hunting.

Here's the winter truck:

White is for crackers.... Epically Trife!

seriously, I have the nice white tank, sidepanels etc. intact. Why ruin a nice stock set-up when I know its going to get knocked over, hit, exposed to the salt and elements? As passe as you say flat black motorcycles are I never see any riding around. Those passe folks must keep 'em parked in the garage. Foul weather, boo hoo.

Later websters, I'm going to passe my fingers off, Hippo hands here I come!

I don't know which is more disturbing the hardon comment or the thought of hanging out at vespa for a week....

I'm wearing the Aero Darien jacket w/ elec liner, AD-1 pants and Sidi On-Road boots and a neck gaiter or balaclava. Gloves seem to be my issue, I broke down and got some Rev-It jammies witch seem to have decent wind resistance and insulation. Last few days have been warmer so I won't know how well they fare till the temps drop again.
