You can expect chilly nights and lots of fun.
No power except what can be had from friends with generators.
Porta Potties close by, real bathrooms farther away.
Great party Sat. night.

Traction is good.
Track feels about the same length as NHIS but it's shorter.
I use NHIS gearing with no problems.
If you get off the track in the corners the gravel will take you.
The track is fairly smooth...probably better than the main track.
Get there on Sat. morn and help set up, cause I won't be there until Sat. afternoon.

so what is the typical schedule....practice and racing? i've heard sat is practice and sun is racing. does this mean a lot of track time all day saturday or do things not really get started until later?

I'm bringing 2 Xr100's and my race bike. I will be there shortly after setup. I plan on racing the 200gp and 350gp, just so Zack doesn't get to comfortable up front. Then I plan on doing wheelies with my old lady.

it's a great time tim. And Kennedy is roasting a pig in his new stainless steel pig roaster (i've seen it, he lives a few miles away). Bummer is that the porta potties are right in the middle of all the action . . registration table, start finish, and usually right where Frank Smith and Kathy park their van. Oh, yeah, tech is there too, right by the potty's. So it's great when you have to unload when all that shit is going on.

It's gonna be friggin cold this year.

I bet Tex wins every race . . . he'll be nutz on that track.

Tilhman, you've never been ther either, right?

Are we talking about next weekend? Oct 1-2? Who's the sanctioning body, can I race there if I hold a district 1 ama card? Can I race a motard YZ125? Or a mid '90s XR100?

Aaron,
I was doing some barrel racing on the XL70 out in the gravel last time I was there....haul ass...lock up the rear and slide the first half way round the barrel...back on the gas and power slide the rest of the way round and head for the next barrel.
Lots of run for screwing around on a dirt bike.

dudes,

what exactly is "friggin' cold" like? estimate day temps and night temps, please. i'm from philly where the asphault roads and blacktop roofs keep us warm at night. who is gonna be the first after winning their respective race to pull over to the portapotties on the cool down lap (ala - rossi)?

evil,

thanks for the vote of confidence.

j not that,

are you running knobbies on the IT175?

johnny,

are you my friend (i.e.- i might need to plug in my battery once over the weekend)?

aaron,

don't beat me or i'll protest your wheelie machine! ;)

fr,

bring your ama card and license. you'll will probably have to buy a uscra license (it's 35 bucks, however you'll get to read evil's "exhausted notes" newsletter - it's filled with dangerous propaganda).

see you trackside.

Cold is cold. Bring firewood, lots of it. Set-up Sat am, then practice till you puke. Then party till you puke again. And then mostly race on Sunday (with a hangover makes it more memorable). Its Oct 8th and 9th. 1 mile "track" in a very historic place. It is on animal hill where more than one motorcyle and motorcylist (not to mention all the alchohol) have met their fate. If its run counter clock wise again this year watch out for the back downhill section. Going off there is not pretty. Of course going off in the 180 at the end of the front straight wasn't all that pretty either but..... hey you will see some leaf color by then.

firewood! are we allowed to have campfires? awesome.

thanks johnny for the a/c-d/c, you rock!

i'm really psyched for this race. don't know why. i guess it's because it is the start of motorcycle racing hibernation.
