The factory cover is starting to split on my seat, so before it wrecks the foam I'm going to have it recovered. I'm going for a Giuliari type look. I need something to show the upholstery shop what I want. What I'm thinking is to lay the seat on it's side and trace around it and then change it to what I want. Anybody got a better idea?
I don't want any seams on the hump. The guy says he has a vinyl that will work for that. Probably want some sort of textured material for the inset(where you actually sit)? I don't like piping so, he says he can do french seams?
My appointment isn't until 7/2 but if I get it apart this weekend I can get a freebie powdercoat on the pan and I need to get the hinges and hardware re-zinc plated. That may take some time. Any input is appreciated.
Side problem- My other seat is junk. I'm trying to think what I can cover it with other than duct tape or a garbage bag to ride with for a month.
