I was wondering if any of you fellas had some ripped off parts from your scooter you might not be using that I might be able to obtain for cheap for my 1976 cb550f...

parts such as:

a seat
-cover
-strap
-chrome strips
-maybe even a cafe tail section

side covers
right or left controls
(preferably with shortened cables but either way is better than
what I have)

speedometer
performance parts
-over sized sprocket(front or butt)
-rear sets
-intake pods 39mm(not chinese crap)
-de-baffled exhaust(to fit the 4 in 1)

and anything else you might want to get rid of... let me know what you have...

thanks a ton for doin' the ton!!

No offense but....you like asked for a lt of stuff that is "not easy" to get for a 550 - basically all the expensive shit (except maybe the speedo and the sprockets). You might as well have asked for a pony or an aircraft carrier.

GFTP can help you with a cafe seat new, Bret is a member here and a fine upstanding individual.

side covers, um...yeah...ebay....be prepared to pay.

rearsets - raask and tarozzi still make them, be prepared to pay.

speed parts for a 550 - yeah, good luck with that.

and this:

<--- yeah that is pretty lame

something about liberal use of the word "ton" causes me to black out and when I come to I am usually sitting at a computer with a keyboard and mouse clutched in my hands and the room is covered in blood....

...did I mention I am usually naked too?

ok, just kidding...mostly

100 mph is not "a ton". It is not a "buck" or whatever else pop slang tells you it is. but hey there is always www.dotheton.com

200 kilometers = 124.274238 miles

100 miles = 160.9344 kilometers

I don't have any problem with calling 100 a buck but never figured out where the Pomes came up with the ton

may as well call a vagina a fanny*

cigs fags

oh wait, they do that too

and the list goes on

I think I'd have a better chance making sense of ebonics

*I guess they never heard that song by Jim Stafford where he discussed plans to ' tie a rubber banny around my fanny say I'm an airplane make me take off '

thanks for the ridicule... figured it wouldn't hurt to ask... though the parts may be hard to find, you never know until you ask... I found the strap and chrome on a different forum already... but thanks for the input you gave...

oh and sorry for making your head explode... just trying to save a buck... or a ton... while doing the ton/fanny/vagina/buck... there's probably a ton of words that might do that to a ton of people who use them a ton... okay... I'll stop... I'm sure there's a ton of people who are sick of the ton...

side covers - new and used http://www.alfaheaven.com/AHI_Text_Pages/HonSideCvr.html

side covers - new from new injection molds and then shipped to you from a UK maker.

as for controls you can go with several setups but if you are going to go fully customed then it is really dependant on what you want for controls. Go look at some bikes and find the setup you like and then copy beg borrow or steal it from someplace.
