Yes, skiing... Of topic, but with the recent snowfall, I'm still itching to go out. Any of you guys do any back country skiing? Tuckerman's and the Gulf of Slides have high avalanche warnings, but that should simmer down once the temps rise a little.

Hey Unga,
I usually make some trips up to the Gulf. I'm a slow out of shape skinner. Got a house in Bartlett too. I have yet to head up this year. The closest I came was gathering my gear, inspecting my gear and found a battery had corroded my transeiver :(
I might be up for a trip. My buddy has been trying to get me to go.
Yeah, I'd let it settle out for a while.

Unga, I just spoke with a client that lives in Barton, he said they still have a couple feet on the ground. My guess is St. J., Island Pond, Jay, Hazens Notch all have ski trails open. At this time of year you can poach any trail with snow. Just head up 91 dude!

man, i love skiing. it's the one and only sport that i actually like doing. i'm more of a downhill guy meself, superG was my thing when i was a kid. i was too young to have the stamina for anything faster and i was lacking technique for slalom but if you could get me on a superG or even giant course, i would rip shit. i guess that's why i hate going skiing out west, it's just not well maintained like it is on the old continent. still though, skiing in general is better than anything else i could think of, even sex.

With tonight's storm, might head over to do that place in the video friday morning. Might also head up to check out the Sherburne trail saturday. Maybe the GOS, depending on the avalanche report.
