Sick of driving my work truck. So, I am looking for something to roll long distance with. Truckish, able to haul crap, off-road abilities a plus, something old, reasonably priced... along the lines of a BMW r100gs or KLR650.

Who had that 11 gallon bmw at NHIS? Now THAT is what I mean!

dude, you should see turnbulls collection of bikes. hes in brooklyn now with one of the heinrichs. somewhere around leonard street with maryland tags. his sidecar was there all winter. you might have seen it. he has several of them, the nut case.

I'm still trolling. People don't sell these things. Market for a BMW r100gs is about $4000-, and a late '80s KLR650 is about $1500-2000. About half what they were new. Holds its value pretty well.

Shit, the late '80s KLRs have to be good. There are never any on ebay (and by never I mean 1 here and there).

So, if anyone comes across one in their wanderings let me know. Thanks.

how about an xr500l or 650l?? you can get those for about 1200 or so. and they were way better bikes than the klr.
