i think it is pretty cool. how about a headlight as a shade, and then it could be an indirect light?

hm i didnt even think about the headlight bucket as a shade...that would make it look and act more like a desk work lamp. i might try that. thanks

haha thanks. no i never went there but as far as i've heard they just shut down not too long ago. there's a new place that just had its grand opening called Velocity Motorcycles- good bunch of guys. They're working out of the old Ducati work shop next door.

funny you mentioned velocity.....i just found my old t-shirt from those dudes yesterday. do they still have a real odd ball collection of motorcycle classics. we raced a velocette venom of theirs back in 2000.

yeah they still have a lot of old bikes in the shop...bunch of really cool looking ones.

thats the coolest lamp i ever saw, if i had the cash i'd buy one in a heartbeat. i did the same sort of thing with a ford camshaft and timing cover as the base.

i still make lamps and tables out of VW parts. my first lamp was a camshaft from a 1994 VW Golf
