yeah im sure it has been covered did a couple of searches and didn't really find what i was looking for. I did find some useful information about a 57hp cb 350. that was a fun one.
so basically remove the 2 bolts on top, 14 on the bottom, tap with rubber mallet, and give a firm tug upwards? bolt hiding under oil drain plug like a 175( i know that is not the case)? screwdrivers and chisels?

All of the above. The only easy thing is there are no hidden bolts. If Yamabond has been used that adds to the fun. Sometimes they come apart easy, sometimes they require some persuasion. I've found that a razor blade tapped into the case seam sometimes helps to get things started. Be gentile if you try this and don't blame me if it gouges your cases.
