I have a line on a nice set of RD chambers for cheap like free
is it worth my trouble to get them to work on my Suzuki T500
I have no problem welding but my question is The performance of putting these on, Seeing as how a RD is about 75 cc smaller per side
is this a issue you think.
thanks in advance

There used to be a guy out in ohio named Dr. Vonstrangemind (he's still there he just can't work or ride bikes anymore) he used to adapt RD350 chambers to his bikes. Search around you'll probably turn up something. Said it woke them right up but as far as I know he is the only one who did it. If anything the cones will be smaller so the reversion will be faster which means your powerband wil move down the rpm range.

Sundail motorsports sells reasonably priced t500 chambers if you want to take the easy way out.

here is a link to building chambers from scratch if you have a welder handy:

Vonstrangemind built my t500 engine and the thing runs like a raped ape, even with tstock chambers and carbs. I don;t recommned getting in touch with him for the simple fact that he is very ill and may not respond back.

Diamond Jim on the suzuki board knew him and could tell you more:

As for chambers, the t500 frame is kinda funky and it requires the chambers to pitch in under the bike and then pitch out, you will probably have to do this with the rd chambers which is why I think the rd chambers might work as well as a set of purpose built chambers.
