Many Many years ago I was faced with the same issue. I spent the whole day with my neighbor trying to get those damn bushings out. We tried a torch, oil, hammer and lots of swear words with no luck. My old man came into the shop and had them out in 5 minutes. He used a cold chisel and cut them out in two pieces. Its an old trick but it worked for me.

Moral of the story - I could never figure out how my dad got smarter as I got older....

thanks dad;

The saw blade trick may work - but the cold chisel will work quicker. The bushing is soft and will split easy. The problem with using a saw blade is the bushing is set into the swing arm with a stop shoulder inside, the saw may cut into that stop shoulder. Try the saw blade trick on one side and the chisel on the other side and let us know which worked better.
