I'm going to use synthetic oil for the first time in the 175. Should I take extra care to get all the mineral oil out first like turning the motor over to clear out the pump system?

No, synthetic and mineral oils are compatible.

Just pour that sheeet right in there. Assuming you are not using cooking oil or something now.
