ok, so i order up a cap for my tannermatic tank. i specifically order the vented one. in the mail comes a package that says vented, but i open the bag, and the cap says unvented. anyone ever vent a tank like the tz's? or like a modern motocrosser? im assuming there is a check valve at the cap. (never checked). im just checking in before i send this thing back.

Joe, I had a problem with one of my "vented" caps not venting last year...hence several photos of me unscrewing the cap going up the hill out of T3.
I got fed up and drilled a 1/16" hole in the top of the cap...never leaked, worked great.

If you have a cap lying around from a small Honda...like 70-200cc...try it out on the tannermatic...I think it might fit. Then you can order a NOS cap off ebay for about $10.

i have the acs alum from aircraft spruce. i was worried about a check valve but it looks like i can get a hole in it where the internal mechanism will cover. so at least it wont splash on me. there is a ton of room on this cap. im guessing the honda style caps just have a diaghfram sort of setup. lets air in, be restricts fuel from coming out. i thihk i'll just drill a hole in it. would be really stupid if i sent it back, waited, and the new one cam with a hole drilled in it!
