I finally have an issue again! Hooray!

Clutch spring washer 'clips' the basket. I dis-assemble, center spring and washer, re-assemble and.... run through a few shifts BANG she clips again.

By 'clip' I mean the spring washer rubs the recess in the basket causing the clutch to stay engaged or disengage randomly.

when i disassembled my clutch, then put it back together without actually doing the final assembly, i noticed those washers get stuck in the recesses. i havent had it back together again for the final time to see whats up. before that, it worked perfectly.

also, noticed after 8 seasons of racing on the same clutch, i can still read the magic marker on the friction plates from todd that says cb350 $54.99 is that bad??

Sounds like the basket or the top plate is not seating right. maybe the spring washers are not seating right either. Got any pics of where it is rubbing?

As stated in the original post it IS the spring washers. Seated centered and correctly, not dragging/rubbing then after running for a bit one will catch.

Centrifical force pushing a washer to one side or flexing a bolt? Spring pressure forcing the washer to one side?

I am going to swap out the washers for ones with smaller I.D. for a snug fit, washers are a loose fit, there is some side-to-side play. Add to that new grade-8 bolts, should be good to go.

ok, maybe it says 44.99. anyway, mines not assembled, but i shoved them on with the springs and i noticed the same thing while i was sitting on the bench. like i had to pry them out. what i did notice was if the springs were in in a different orientation, like spun one way fo the other, it helped. if you look at the spring, you can see it flares out at one end. well, i guess i should say on my barnett hd springs. also, what happens is when you compress the springs, they expand. if you psh them into the holes with your fingers, youll notice they will bind. but if you drop them in, they almost fall into place. ill have to fuck with them again tomorrow.
