Gord Downie, 53, front man for The Tragically Hip and one of the good guy's.

From a cultural perspective The Tragically Hip produced the most important music of the last 30 years in Canada. If you're not familiar with the band look them up and take a listen.

RIP Gord, gonna miss ya.

Amazing, almost 60.
Rush had to quit touring because the effort required to be the real Peart on drums was crippling, by the end of the tour he was a physical mess. I am not a big Rush fan but have seen them several times, the first was before their first record. I have been lucky enough to see most of the great drummers going back to the early '70's and 2 really stand out. Keith Moon's complexity combined with the ability to produce more sound than the space shuttle, he could move stadiums and Neil Peart's limbs move at the speed of light and never stop.

You know that you are getting old when all your heroes die.
Sorry, FAKE NEWS. A buddy just told me he died in July 28th, 2021. I read it in an article yesterday, which claimed it was news, so I assumed it had been in the last couple days.
I usually pay more attention to the source but you don't really think about needing to confirm a musicians death.
