i have a 93' yamaha fizzer right now. its a fun bike but a horrible replacement for my old honda cb350 cafe. that bike got stolen about this time last year and it was depressing. i never found it and now im searching for a new one. its awesome that i found this forum. didnt know one existed. ill be hitting the for sale section right after i submit this. thanks for the great looking site and its about time something like this existed

nah. its the FZR600. good for commuter but too old to be fast and too new to be cool.

so i got in touch with this guy that has a whole slew of early 70s japanese bikes laying around. he gave me a choice of which one i want out of the ones he was willing to let go. he honestly has over 80 bikes and most of them are restored back to factory mint. help me decide my next project!

he has two honda 400 fours
a honda cb350
a kawi kz400
or a cb550 with a 650 nighthawk motor.

i did the cb and love that bike but i might try something different. dont know much about the others though. what do you guys think?

the 400 fours and the 350s are cool and both have followings, but the cb550 with the 650 motor is the one you want. I have always wanted to do that hot rod swap but have never owend a 650 and a 500 at the same time (and it is a cb650 motor or a first year nighthawk motor - they are the same).

KZ400s are not good beginner bikes if they need motor work (4 internal chains). Plus they are slow.

How close are you to ny? I might have something I could trade you for that FZR600. - Just saw you were in Utah, nevermind.

im with geet on this one. although the kz i always liked the styling. but they can be hella work. id say toss up between the 400's and the 500/650. the 400's had serious crank oiling issues and broke rods alot when they are pushed hard. ive seen it happen to them alot. even saw one lunch a carrilo. bango, right through the cases. not pretty.
