So I leave work about 4am. Stop at the local quickiemart for some gas. While I'm there I see this kid I've seen in the bar. Local college kid I think, probably 21 years old....carrying a motorcycle helmet in the store....it's about 40 degrees out.
So I ask him "you riding?" he says yeah...I ask "whatcha riding" he says 1976 CB750. I'm like "no shit dude".
It's parked at one of the gas pumps...an absolutely pristine, show room condition 750 with a few cafe parts on it.
Can't wait to see him again at the bar and ask him about it. I don't know if he built it himself or not...freakin thing was beautiful though.

johnny,

that's cool. i hope he built it, as most of those skidmore kids get shit handed to them. i loved when i was able to give my pristine 1973 superbeetle to my sister for her saratoga runabout. hated it when she crashed it though.

to this day she says it was a hit and run while she was in the library studying. i believe she was leaving d.a.'s on her way home when it happened.

the car was never the same again.

Yeah, I hope the guy is legit. Hard to believe he was riding around in those conditions on that nice of a bike without some kind of know how. Didn't see him tonight...gonna buy him a beer when I do.

Definately some kind of retro hipster thing going on at Skidmore, don't see the Beemers and Saabs like I used to....now they seem to be into more interesting stuff. I talk to a lot of them at the bar that want to get into welding and fabrication and shit like that. Very cool.

There aren't any hit and runs at the library...she was partying like a big dog with six people in the car all smoked up.....which builds more memories than a hit and run in the parking lot anyway :)
