Thank you so much man for all the information. I'm not completely new at mechanics, just at technical aspact of motorcycle design. The majority of tools, and other things needed to complete the project i already have in my personal garage. And your right, it would be to cool if i were a engineering major, and had access to that sort of equipment. But i will try to contact these guys, and some other enthusiast within the area, to help me along the way. But to everyone who has posted, thank ya'll for everything. feel free to keep givin advice!!!

SPEED!!! My new anit-drug

Put my 550 back together a few days ago, first time with the chambers. Now when I go down the street people seem either confused or offended by it. This is one of the big upsides of owning a 2-stroke streetbike.

welcome to the life, of a stubborn lifestyle, where you just throw your will, over metal and aluminum .Mix it with some money you do not have yet and lots of alone time ,man and machine. And you will become one of US!The Fraternaty welcomes you and since you have chosen your initiation ,you will garner much respect ,if you finnish what you start and we will all sigh in unison,if you abandon this project ,under any circumstances, as just another wannabe that bites the dust. For every one of us,there are mountains of people before you that have given up the dream.
So god speed on your way to becoming a jet eyed cafe biker.
We expect to be seeing alot of you from now on. May you obtain an impact screw driver and walk into the dim light of your over stuffed garage, an start your journey.

Im so far behind ,that I think Im in first.

good news is you have a spare motor, its very apparrent the previous own uppon seeing the look of this motor on teardown.Came to the conclusion it would be cheaper to get another working engine instead of building this one.So he obviously would buy a motor that was at least known to be good.
I saw in the picture the clucth cover was off it, so it may or may not be complete complete.Just seeing that makes me think he was going to swap parts and not complete motors.be interesting if you could talk with that guy and see what he was planing on doing may save some steps .But over all I think its a cool bike to scratch you head over and have a fun bike when your thru.
